The author is a retired Doctor who first visited Thailand on a working holiday in 1982 intending to stay for about four weeks but as it turned out the trip was extended for almost a year. He fell in love with Thailand and visited Thailand every year over the next 25 years before finally retiring here in 2008. Since then he has lived in Bangkok, Pattaya, Huahin and Udon Thani before finally settling in Huahin where he lives with his Thai wife, four rescued dogs and a cat.
